Description:

Stage 1 of the 2007 Tour de France. London to Canterbury. McEwen crashes 20km from the finish line and is out of the race due to the furious pace being set at the front of the peleton by teams such as Quick-Step, Milram, Credit Agricole and Lampre. He is somehow brought back into the peleton with just a few kilometers remaining by his teammates despite the best efforts of the sprinter teams to make sure he stays out of contention. He then works his way through the entire Tour de France field in the space of a couple of miles and, despite all the exertions and a wrist injury, appears in the last 200 metres to blow all the other sprinters away. One of the most historic non-mountain stage wins in the Tour de France.

Ur quite harsh in the way you put things. Look at the tour on stage 2, And watch Boonen side swipe Zarbal and thats why they all crashed there, Mcwen is just a good sprinter and thats it. But as well as that his a team man, every sprinter isnt great at mountians, Then again you go and climb the Alps and Perinize after having about 7 days of flat going around 30+kph and then sprint upto 70kph and tell me you wouldnt fall behind as well. Oh well no like i care but still. Good video non the less

amazing finish. probably one of the best ever crash comebacks ever in the Tour. as much as i dislike McEwen b/c he's a dick, he's probably the best sprinter in the world and that was a phenomenal finish. personally, i'm glad he got eliminated int he Alps. he sucks at mountains. i'd rather seen Boonen or Hushovdt win the green...Boone has it sewn up.
