i appreciate your help. It would really suck if i could never play my t-bone again. I just want to say congratulations to my high school band for winning 1st and best in our division at the Northwest Mississippi marching classic today! Once again thanks for all the help

the other possiblility is that you lose all sensation on your lips. Both suck, although never playing again, much more so

just play notes that get succesively lower (down to pedal tones), very soft. Start at a low note, and go as low as you can, as soft as you can, then do it again, even softer. Thats how we do it in my marching band. We usually start on low concert B-flat

playing pedal tones is the best way because the larger vibrations relax your lip muscles. i know someone who never warmed down and has killed the nerves in their lips. they'll never be able to play a brass instrument again.

How do you do it? Is there a specific way or do you just do it without a set way? Once again I really appreciate it.

warming down protects the nerves in your lips. It also allows you to play more, because it reduces muscle soreness in your lips. Its really not nessecary for regular band, but if youve been blasting during a marching show, then you need to do it.

with my band, money is NOT a problem plus, we could get the DCA corps Alliance to lend them to us during the off-season, which coincides with our on-season
